Paddler Info

This is the place to find all the vital information for taking part in DeeFest.

Event schedule – we’ll release this before the event on the what’s on page.

Where to find everything:

Parking and shuttles

With hundreds of paddlers come plenty of paddlewagons – and all the parking and shuttle faff too.

We really want to show how paddlers are a force for good in the valley, which means we can’t afford any carnage on the roads or in the car parks. So we ask everyone to:

  • Car share to DeeFest as much as possible
  • Use the shuttle service we put on – it makes things much easier
  • Park courteously
  • Pay for parking where you need to
  • Condense your vehicles once you get to the valley – and leave spare cars and vans well out out of the way

See shuttle stops, car parks and event locations on Google maps

We run shuttle vehicles for people and boats throughout the weekend. They drive circuits between:

  • Pavilion car park – large car park at Llangollen pavilion. Ideal for leaving your car while you paddle. Pay and display. Car charging points. Also has footpath access to Mile End Mill river left bank (see map for details) – paddlers can cross the river, but non-paddlers can’t.
  • Ponsonby car park – medium car park on river left below Town Falls in Llangollen. Take-out for Horseshoe to Town run, put in for run to country park. Pay and display. We suggest parking at the Pavilion car park instead and using the shuttle.
  • Mile End Mill – your ticket includes site and car park use, but the car park isn’t big enough for everyone so if you can, please park elsewhere and shuttle. Paddlers can also use footpath access from the Pavilion car park (see map for details) – non-paddlers won’t be able to cross.
There’s also overflow parking on Saturday and Sunday across the road in the ‘Preworn’ car park. It’s paid parking: check the signs and pay by phone. Preworn also has rapid car chargers.
  • Horseshoe Falls – put on for tail to town. Pay and display, height limited. We suggest parking at the Pavilion car park instead and using the shuttle.

Please leave a bit more time in your plans to catch the shuttle instead of parking where you normally might. not park where you normally might and use the shuttle.
